Many believers mistakenly think that low-self esteem is a form of humility. However. nothing could be further from the truth. Biblical humility does not in any way deny our own self worth. Rather, it affirms the inherent worth of all human beings by asking of us to love our neighbors as we love ourselves and forgive others in the same way that we want forgiveness.
God doesn't require us to be doormats; nor do we have to allow people to break us down to the the ground by way of their condemning words and actions. The Bible itself builds up or self-esteem by making it a point to lets us know that we are fearfully and wonderfully made.
But so many of us confuse humility with being a doormat and emotional dumping ground and as a result we allow people to drain the life out of our self-worth.
We are supposed to protect our thought life, because our thought life is where our self-esteem resides and our self-esteem as children of The King, is we gives us the type of confidence that makes us more than conquerors.
Today, do a quick self-esteem check. And make sure that you have clear standards in place to protect your thought life, and your self-esteem..
