What are your goals for the coming year? Have you been preparing yourself for the goals and plans that you've been praying for. God answers prayers, but we have to put in the leg work to achieve our desired results.
- If you've been praying for your marriage to be healed; how are you preparing for it?
- If you've been praying for a husband or wife; how are you preparing for it?
- If you've been praying for more clients in your business, how are you preparing for it?
- If you've been praying for growth and increase in your ministry; how are your preparing for it?
Praying for a thing to happen in your life without preparing and positioning yourself for it, is like desiring to eat a
peanut butter and jelly sandwich but making the sandwich with only jelly while leaving out the peanut butter. You need the peanut butter and the jelly
for the sandwich to have the right flavor and consistency. Just like when you
desire something in life, you need prayer coupled with action. Prayer is the catalyst for change, but you still must cement your prayers with consistent action and strategic preparation.
James 2:14-17 puts it
this way.... What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but
does not have works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister is naked and
destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be
warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the
body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have
works, is dead."
