Have You Commanded Your Morning Today?

In the book of Job, Job reveals a spiritual strategy in which God essentially told him to begin to take ownership of his inner world by setting the tone for his day. We set the tone for our day via the power of prayer which strengthens our spirit, the power of reading and declaring scripture which renews our mind and acts as an internal stabilizing force for our emotions, the power of worship and praise which opens our eyes to the blessings that we may have overlooked or we're too blinded by our problems to see, the power of our coping skills and self-mastery skills which grow by way of self-actualization when we align our free will with God's will and the power of our personal belief system which is infused by hope, love, resilience and faith. This is what is meant by commanding your morning, otherwise known as establishing in advance what our mood and attitude will be on any given day, independent of what comes at us externally. This is not an easy thing to do, especially when you've got 99 problems and it looks like you are running out of options. However since you are the only one who can control your mood, mindset, attitude, the conversations you entertain, the beliefs about yourself and the world that you accept as true and the choices you make; this is the only plausible personal empowerment strategy that really puts you in the driver's seat of your life, by putting you in the driver's seat of your mind.

Commanding your morning is all about making the decision first thing in the morning to seize your success for the day. And this starts by spending time with God in prayer, meditating on Bible scriptures and confessing your success by declaring scriptures out loud that renew your mind with empowering thoughts and that build you up mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Today could literally be the day that everything start to turn around for you and your life gets better exponentially. Today could be one of the best days of your life. Because when you command your morning, you utilize the creative, mood-altering power of the spoken word, to release all of the blessings that are stored up for you in the spirit realm of your day. When you command your morning, you equip your mind, mood and attitude with something positive, purposeful and progressive to focus on which in turn creates an inner shift in your personal world, that motivates you to approach you day with a sense of personal power and resilience.

Here's How To Do It In 5 Minutes or Less

  • Read Job 38: 12 - 13
  • Sit with this verse for a moment and remind yourself that every new day with God brings the dawning of new possibilities and that you have the power to set your tone for the day.
  • Say the following words out loud or quietly reflect on them: “I thank and praise you God for giving me the power to command my morning. Father, let me be even more aware of Your presence in my life today. I stand on your word and declare that today is a new day. I greet today with hope and positive expectation. Good things are happening to me as I release these words today. Let every aspect of my day align with your will for my life. Shed light on everything about my day that I need to be aware of”

(Job 38: 12 – 13) “Have you commanded the morning since your days began, And caused the dawn to know its place, That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, And the wicked be shaken out of it?
