Are You Operating In Your Feelings or In Your Fruit?

Ever had one of those days where you were overly emotional about a situation also known as being in-your-feelings? Yesterday was one of those days for me, because I was in my FEELINGS about a situation that was very stressful for me but that I still had to deal with none-the-less. I was allowing my emotions to get the better of me rather than tapping into the FRUIT that was already inside me through Christ who strengthens me.

Jesus reminds us that He is the Vine and when we are connected spiritually we will bear spiritual fruit. This seems like an easy thing to do, but sometimes in life we give into our emotions and as a result we operate in our FEELINGS rather than our FRUIT.

In any plant, a branch that is disconnected from the vine cannot bear fruit. If you are growing tomatoes and you cut one of the branches off from the vine then that particular branch won't produce any tomatoes. Similarly, when we are disconnected from God, not only do we not have proper support to keep being fruitful,  eventually we will start to whither under our problems and feel like we are dying on the inside.

What kind of fruit should you see in your life when you are connected to the vine? You should see the fruit of the spirit which is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control”(Galatians 5:22-23) So today, take a moment to connect to the Vine so that you can operate in your FRUIT about the situations that come your way instead of operating in your FEELINGS.

Here's How To Do It In 5 Minutes or Less

1. Think about a fruit that you want to see mo
re of in your life. Is it:love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness or self control?

2. Pick one and ask God to show you how to grow in that fruit area.

3. As you see the evidence of the fruit operating in your life, make a mental note of how you operated in your fruit instead of your feelings. For example: Perhaps you really felt like telling someone off, but instead you exercised the fruit of self-control and you held your tongue.

(Galatians 5: 22 - 23) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
