Cassandra Mack’s Soul Fast 40-Day Challenge
Day 7
Fasting From Negative Thinking
Today’s Fast: Today We Are Fasting from the thought that says… I am too messed up/too much of a lost
cause/too far gone in my lifestyle to be used by God for His glory.
Have you ever said one of the above mentioned statements about yourself? Most people at some point in their lives have felt this way.
The thing is whenever we give our past more power than our future or perpetually live from the realm of a mistake that we cannot undo but we've wholeheartedly sought forgiveness for or we place too much stock in what other people have to say about us, we limit our own possibilities. And the higher reality of your life is this: YOU HAVE A PURPOSE.
Although people can have a funny way of discounting those who have fallen on hard times, or who struggle with a personal issue or who have made a mistake that is so publicly humiliating that they can barely enter a room without a condescending giggle or a glaring stare, it's important that you don't discount yourself from the family of God or allow other people's opinions of you to become your own.
The other piece of it is sometimes when we are on the receiving end of other people’s gossip because of a foolish choice we made or a sketchy past; we can become so consumed with shame that it robs us of our present purpose and dilutes our bright future. The good news is we don’t have to live our lives from the place of shame, because life is expansive enough, progressive enough, evolutionary enough and forgiving enough to allow us to come as we are and grow as we go along. God's purpose for your life trumps any mistakes you've made or any trauma you've been through.

If you
are allowing your past or a habit that you can’t seem to break or a personal
struggle; to hold you back in any way, before you count yourself out, it’s
important for you to know that everyone has a blind spot, a weakness, an area
of personal struggle that causes them to trip and fall. Not one of us is perfect.
The
reality of real life is… Everyone is trying to find their own way the best way
that they know how. So, don’t walk around with your head hanging down because
you’ve got a few issues that you’re working through, or you’re not where you
want to be or you are so knee deep in the middle of your mess that it would
take a tractor and two shovels to dig you out. No matter what and I do mean no
matter what: Get up, Get dressed and
SHOW UP for LIFE!
There’s a reason the Bible tells us to come as we
are by way of the verse in Matthew 11: 28 which says… "Come to
me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
If we waited
until we were perfect or life was perfect to have life abundantly, we would be
waiting until we were dead; and by then it would be too late.
Your personal growth is between you and God… not your friends, family, co-workers
or church folk. Just because you’ve got some growing to do does not mean that
you cannot take steps towards your success or allow yourself to serve as a
blessing to others. We are all hard-wired for purpose, irrespective of our
mistakes and bad choices.
Today is
a new day!!!
It’s new because the sun has risen this morning.
It’s new because you have arisen to meet it.
And the risen version of you has
the power and capacity to rise to the occasion and handle your business for
today.
Remind
Yourself: "Come to
me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11: 28)
