The Peace Your Soul's Been Searching For

Do you ever feel like consistent peace is always out of your reach? When things are going well, your heart is light. When you got everything under control, your mind is calm. But when the storm hits—the unexpected diagnosis, the difficult conversation, the financial pressure—your peace leaves you quicker than a blink.
If that’s you, you’re not alone. But you’re also not called to live that way. The Bible speaks of a different kind of peace. Not the absence of challenges, problems or obstacles, but an inner stillness in the midst of it. A peace so profound, so counter-intuitive, and so anchoring that the Bible calls it the “peace of God, which surpasses all understanding” in Philippians 4:7.
What this means is God’s deep abiding peace goes deeper than your feelings and deeper than your mind can comprehend given the situation. It's peace during the storm, stillness in the chaos, trusting in the Lord even when it seems like everything in your life is falling apart. God’ peace is not about perfect circumstances; it's about a perfect God who carries you through every circumstance.
Here's Why You Need God’s Peace
1. Because the World’s Chaos is Constant.
We live in a world of 24/7 noise—endless news cycles, social media outrage, personal anxieties, and relational drama. This chaos isn’t just around us; it’s goal is to steal our peace by dwelling within us, to take up residency in our thoughts and steal our attention and focus.
2. Because Your Adversary Is Always On The Prowl.
The enemy of your soul is a master of counterfeits. He offers the numbness of busyness, the sedation of escapism, or the false peace of self-sufficiency (“I’ve got this under control”). These are cheap substitutes that crumble under pressure.
3. Because Life Will Hand You Things You Cannot Fix or Figure Out Right Away.
Some trials are too complex to solve, some griefs too deep to put into words, some problems require lots of patience. This is precisely where God’s supernatural peace gives you the calm you need to remain steadfast even through the trial.

In The Meantime …Here’s A Resource To Help You Tap Into God’s Peace Through Bible Based Prayers
Sometimes the hardest part about finding peace is that we don't even know what to pray. The worries are too many, the words too few.
In my book Simple Prayers To Pray When You Don't Know What To Say, I share short, powerful Bible-based prayers for real-life moments, including prayers that bring peace.
These prayers aren't rigid formulas—they're conversation starters for your prayer life to help you get the ball rolling.
Here's A Tool That Helps To Anchor Me On The Days Where I Really Need To Lean Into God’s Peace
As I’m writing this post, I am sipping Hazelnut coffee from my Devotional Mug that says, "Cup of Peace." It has a dove on it and Scriptures about peace. As I sip my coffee and get ready to start my day, it reminds me: peace isn't something I produce through perfect condition, because my life is not perfect and I go through problems like every other human.
But it does provide me with a visual reminder of where my peace comes from and the scriptures on it help me set my tone for the day as one where my peace is non-negotiable.
That's what I want for you too—not just a temporary quiet moment, but a lasting peace that holds you through everything. If you’d like to grab this Devotional Mug to incorporate into your sacred time with The Lord, you can get it here or by clicking on the mug
Don’t forget to add CHURCH BY PHONE to your calendar for this Sunday so that you can get spiritually refilled for the week. The number and time are noted on the flyer above.
Never Forget - You hold the pen that writes the chapters of your life,
